Streetlights are an important part of providing vehicular and pedestrian safety throughout the city and are typically installed at intersections in order to help prevent accidents and increase public safety.
Installation
Ogden City requires new developers to place streetlights inside their development as outlined in the 2020 Edition of the Ogden City Engineering Standards and Amendments. For existing neighborhoods, requests for additional street lighting can be made for mid-block lights if the requested location is at least 300 feet away from an existing street light and if all the residents within 150 feet of the proposed location agree with the placement. There is a brief application and petition that must be filled out completely and turned in to the city.
