3. How do I find buried utility information for Ogden City?

Utility information requests can be submitted via email at permits.eng@ogdencity.com, or through an Online Request Form, or by phone at 801-629-8990. Please include the type of utility and specific location and contact information.

4. How do I find information regarding a Right-of-Way permit?

5. How do I know when I need to get an engineering Right-of-Way permit?

If you are a licensed contractor with any work that will need to be done in the city right-of-way (with the exception of hand digging sprinkler systems), you will need a permit. 

Work includes: 

• Sidewalk approaches 
• Curb and gutter 
• Sewer lines 
• Water lines 
• Utility work, i.e. cable, gas, power, and phone

6. How do I know if I can work in the city Right-of-Way?

7. How do I pull a Right-of-Way permit?

Only Licensed Contractors with these classifications, who are insured and bonded with Ogden City can pull an Engineering Permit to work in the City Right-of-Way.

9. How do I determine the cost for an engineering permit?

Permit fees are calculated on the scope of work that is to be done. For an accurate calculation of permit fees for any work or project in the city Right-of-Way, please contact the Engineering Construction Coordinator at 801-629-8986. Permit Fees Page

10. Where is my property line?

Property lines are determined by subdivision of land into lots or parcels. Legal descriptions define the location of the property on the ground.
When a new subdivision is created, it will have metal bars with a cap (called a hub) that identifies the corners of lots. The surveyor hired by the developer of the subdivision establishes these physical points.
Older subdivisions may no longer have markers at the lot corners.
If there is a dispute between property owners, the only correct way to find the property line locations is by hiring a private surveyor to mark those corners.
